Ancient Turkish Anatolian Folk song

Karsida görünen ne güzel yayla
Bir dem süremedim giderim böyle
Ala gözlü Pirim sen himmet eyle
Ben de bu yayladan saha giderim

Eger gögerüben bostan olursam
su halkin diline destan olursam
Kara toprak senden üstün olursam
Ben de bu yayladan saha giderim

Bir bölük turnaya sökün dediler
Yürekteki derdi dökün dediler
Yayladan ötesi yakin dediler
Ben de bu yayladan saha giderim

Dost elinden dolu içmis deliyim
Üstü kan köpüklü mese seliyim
Ben bir yol ogluyum yol sefiliyim
Ben de bu yayladan saha giderim

Alinmis abdestim aldirirlarsa
Kilinmis namazim kildirirlarsa
Sizde sah diyeni öldürürlerse
Ben de bu yayladan saha giderim

Pir Sultan Abdalim dünya durulmaz
Gitti giden ömür gelinmez
Gözlerim de sah yolundan ayrilmaz
Ben de bu yayladan saha giderim

Erkan Oğur was born in 1954, in Elazığ, Turkey. He spent his childhood in Elazığ, eastern Turkey, where he became interested in violin and the Turkish bağlama lute, and started to practice them frequently. He graduated from high school in Elazığ, then moved to study physics at the Ankara University Faculty of Science from 1970 to 1973. As a result of encouragement to be a scientist by his father, he started to study chemical engineering and in 1974 continued his education in The Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany, for three years. He was introduced to guitar education in 1973. Instead of being a scientist, he chose to be a musician. Since he needed detailed sounds from a guitar in order to obtain Turkish melodies, he modified his guitar and invented the fretless classical guitar in 1976

"Fretless guitar was an opening for me after regular guitar, theres no limit after you open that door. It was a real turning point in my life. After I came back to Istanbul from Germany in 1980, I finished my studies at the State Conservatory of Istanbul Technical University and I started to play professionally. I played in many recording sessions of different kinds, on the Turkish musical scene, and I always did improvised things. Even during my childhood Id make our toys with wood and strings and stuff. In fact my first instrument was two nuts and a string and a hammer for tuning: Id hit it this way or the other and it would make different sounds.... It comes very easily and naturally to me, it is like integrated in my body. I learned how to make instruments by doing it, so now I have different fretless guitars, jazz, six-strings, electric, classic, double necked all fretless models. I made many electric guitars too. I can make one in a half day now if I have the material ready.I also made bağlama, with six double or single strings; I even made a double-sided bağlama, with two different tunings. It has a thinner body and two set of strings, so if the song changes tonality I turn it around and change instantly from G to C. I made it for rehearsals with Gasparyan. I didnt want to have to carry two bağlamas! "(laughs)

Erkan Ogur is one of my favorite Turkish Musician. He is very creative, talented and also very modest person. When others write many fancy biographies for trying to impress others; he only wrote one sentence about himself in one of his CD ;
"I am someone who loves Music "
