The International Journalism Festival draws journalists from all over the world to this free, 5-day event on journalism. We worked with Buzzdetector in Italy to provide a custom dashboard that provided insights into the conference based upon the wealth of information being shared on Twitter. This was broken down by before/after the conference, each day of the conference, as well as for the conference as a whole. Al Monitor wanted to know what the latest news stories, videos and images in each of the countries of the Middle East were. We provided Al Monitor with a custom data feed based upon the popularity of these items on Twitter for each of the countries. This allowed people to see what Youtube videos were most popular in Egypt, or the most retweeted images coming out of Turkey. The amount of tweets coming out of the Middle East has grown significantly over the last year or so. This has provided a unique insight into the pulse of each of these countries.
TV in general is very popular on Twitter, with many people discussing the details of the show, but also generating huge amounts of fan based videos, links, and imagery. TheWesteros.com was created in the style of a daily newspaper for the fictual land of Westros, where the hit HBO TV Series, The Game of Thrones is primarily set. This brings together the top trending fan videos, amusing meme images, as well as the tweets that are most engaging the Game of Thrones fan community.
For SBS, we created a live, custom trend widget for use on their home page. We provided stats on the volume of tweets, and created custom map views for each episode in the 4 part series.

As part of this project we also created custom NHL pages for some of the major cities within Canada so it was possible to see specific NHL trends for that city in a more detailed format.

We also created a similar site for Sportsnet in 2012 for the MLB Playoffs
For the 2013 Oscars we worked with Digitas to create a custom map highlighting the chatter across North America for the upcoming Oscars as part of Sprint's #UnlimitedPoseOff promotion. For this solution we enabled Sprint to be able to select a number of hastags related to the Oscars to be shown at once, in essence a merging of a number of Topic Maps
For the previous Australian Federal election we created custom Trendsmap pages for the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) as part of their Campaign Pulse mini-site. This showed trends across Australia related to the election as it unfolded from the day the election was announced, until after the results were known.
In addition to the 'live' map we also created an archived version that allowed you to go back in time, to look at the trends for a particular point in the election campaign, and view these in the context of election events that happened.
